NOTE 10 SUBSEQUENT EVENTS
On April 12, 2016, the Company repurchased $10 million in face value of trust preferred securities that were auctioned as part of a liquidation of a pooled collateralized debt obligation fund. The trust preferred securities were originally issued through CCBG Capital Trust I, a wholly-owned business trust subsidiary of the Company. The $10 million in trust preferred securities were retired, resulting in a commensurate reduction in the Companys related floating rate junior subordinated note. The Companys winning bid equated to approximately 75% of the $10 million par value, with the 25% discount resulting in a pre-tax gain of approximately $2.5 million that will be realized in the second quarter of 2016. The Company utilized internal resources and a $3.75 million draw on a short-term borrowing facility to fund the repurchase. |
